The Ministry of Family and Social Services’ “Supporting Young People Getting Married” project has provided interest-free marriage loans to 7,726 young people in Ankara so far. Aimed at strengthening the family institution and encouraging marriage, the initiative was launched in 2024 under the Family and Youth Fund, initially in the earthquake-hit region, and was rolled out to all 81 provinces in 2025 as part of the Year of Family. Approved applicants receive a 48-month loan with a two-year grace period, along with pre- and post-marriage education and counseling.
In Ankara, 14,564 couples have applied for the loans; 7,726 qualified for support. Meanwhile, 9,884 people have received training and counseling, and 283 children have been born to 279 couples who used the loans. The program also offers training sessions covering family and financial management, communication, marital responsibilities, and pre-marriage considerations. To be eligible, both partners must be Turkish citizens residing in Turkey.
