Microsoft is working on memory optimizations specifically for Windows 11 PCs with 8GB of RAM, aiming to make the operating system run faster and more responsively on low-memory hardware. Pavan Davuluri, the executive leading the Windows operating system, announced that the company will now focus on four core areas, with the most notable being improvements planned for low-memory systems. Microsoft says it will develop tailored optimizations that reduce memory consumption and ease the load on hardware, giving 8GB machines a far smoother Windows 11 experience.

Beyond memory management, the company is also preparing to improve the post-install experience, focusing more on family controls and the setup infrastructure. Davuluri added that Windows 11's voice control features will also be updated to make voice commands work more naturally and fluidly. He stressed that these four areas will set Windows 11's performance standards going forward, promising significant gains for entry-level and mid-range hardware users.
