EU Summit Conclusions Omit Italian-danish Migrant Hub Proposal

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi told European counterparts that restoring border controls was not aimed at Spain and urged using economic leverage against countries refusing to accept deportations.

After the video call, disappointment was palpable at the Viminale, though officials framed the EU's mere discussion of the Italian-Danish proposal for North African migrant hubs, modeled on Albania, as progress. Yet the final summit conclusions contained no mention of the hubs.
