Turkey Issues Guide for Free Private School Placements

Turkey's Education Ministry has published a guide for free placements at private schools, with applications opening Aug. 5. Priority is given to children of martyrs and veterans, and those under state protection, who can apply Aug. 5-17. Applications for other students run through school principals via the e-Okul system, with preferences submitted by parents or guardians Aug. 18-26. Each student may choose 5-10 institutions, and placements based on score rankings will be announced Aug. 31. For driving and vocational courses, applications are handled by provincial and district education directorates, with candidates selecting up to 5 courses.

Other private institutions, such as tutoring centers and therapy clinics, follow similar procedures through the MEBBİS module.

Students who fail to enroll after placement lose their free education rights. The program covers all fees except transportation, as per Law No. 5580.
