The Data Highlights Deepening Digital Transformation, With Citizens Increasingly Handling Education, Banking, and Public Services Online

TÜİK's 2026 Household Information Technologies Usage Survey shows internet usage in Turkey reached a record 92.3 percent, while the share of people shopping online surpassed 60 percent for the first time. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the findings, attributing the growth to expanded broadband access, including in rural areas, and rising trust in digital payment systems. The data highlights deepening digital transformation, with citizens increasingly handling education, banking, and public services online. Officials expect usage rates to climb further as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things become more prevalent.
