The Four-day Assembly Session Began Monday, With the Supplementary Budget Presented Tuesday

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Tuesday that the Special Investigation Team's preliminary report found no sadhu or saint involved in the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. "No involvement of any sadhu or saint was found in the SIT's initial report, he told reporters, as opposition parties demanded a parliamentary debate. Adityanath accused the Samajwadi Party and Congress of trying to damage Uttar Pradesh's image, calling their conduct "undemocratic and unconstitutional and an insult to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.

He also criticized the Samajwadi Party for past violence in Ayodhya and questioned opponents who doubted the existence of Lord Ram and Krishna. The four-day Assembly session began Monday, with the supplementary budget presented Tuesday. Opposition leader Mata Prasad Pandey said they would continue raising the donation issue despite the budget.

In Parliament, MPs including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Manoj Jha demanded a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on police action during a July 20 protest, while Samajwadi Party MPs displayed a donation box. The government told the Supreme Court on July 27 it formed a new SIT led by IGP Kiran S; eight accused have been arrested so far.
