Linda Caponi Took Bronze in an All-tuscan Celebration

Ginevra Taddeucci won gold in the women's 10km open-water swim at the European Championships in Paris, finishing in 2h07'4990 and beating Hungary's Viktoria Mihalyvari Farkas by 9.71 seconds. Linda Caponi took bronze in an all-Tuscan celebration. Taddeucci, 29, called Paris her lucky city and dedicated the medal to her parents and boyfriend.

She noted the Seine was dirty, saying she found branches, leaves, and plastic in the water, though she felt the 2024 Olympic course was cleaner. She expressed some regret that top rivals were missing but admitted she feared losing. This was her third European gold and first in the 10km.

Italy's fourth gold at these championships came after wins in team diving events and Pellacani's 1m springboard. The artistic swimming team, featuring Beatrice Andina, Valentina Bisi, Beatrice Esegio, Marta Iacoacci, Alessia Macchi, Sofia Mastroianni, Susanna Pedotti, and Giulia Vernice, scored 284.6725 points for fourth place, with Russia taking gold (303.2467), Spain silver (296.4299), and France fourth (276.4857).
