Command Has Assumed the NATO Enhanced Air Policing Block-72 Rotation, According to a Defense Ministry Statement on Its Social

The Turkish Air Force's 181st Jet Fleet Command has assumed the NATO Enhanced Air Policing Block-72 rotation, according to a Defense Ministry statement on its social media account. The unit completed its transfer to Estonia's Amari Air Base on July 29, carried out familiarization flights on July 30–31, and finalized planned briefings and preparations. At the handover ceremony organized by Estonia on July 31, participants included NATO representative Colonel Keith D. Mckee, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, Portuguese Defense Minister Joao Nuno de Lacerda Teixeira de Melo, Turkey's Tallinn Ambassador Başak Türkoğlu, and Air Force Command personnel. The 181st Jet Fleet Command officially took over the Block-72 rotation at 09:00 on August 1, 2026.
