A Police Cordon Remains at the Calcutt Site As Inquiries Continue

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after Jimmy Ward, 36, was fatally shot at a traveller site near Cricklade, Wiltshire, on Sunday. Wiltshire Police said five people are in custody, including two men, aged 53 and 29, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender after a vehicle stop on the A419, and a 74-year-old man and 42-year-old woman held on similar suspicions plus firearm possession. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker called it a significant development, noting Ward's next of kin have been informed and are receiving support.
A police cordon remains at the Calcutt site as inquiries continue. I’d like to thank the local community for their support and patience since Sunday. We understand this incident has caused significant concern, so please consider speaking with officers about any information or concerns you may have.
