Demirören News Agency Bolu Correspondent Mutlu Yuca Has Won First Prize in the “News Photos That Defined 2025” Category

Demirören News Agency (DHA) Bolu correspondent Mutlu Yuca has won first prize in the “News Photos That Defined 2025” category at the Martyr Mustafa Cambaz Photography Contest for a photograph titled “Sömestir Tatilinde Gelen Hüzün” (“The Sorrow That Came With the Semester Break”), taken on Jan. 21, 2025, during the Grand Kartal Hotel fire that killed 78 people. Yuca received the award from Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş at a ceremony held on Democracy and Freedoms Island. Held for the fifth time this year, the contest honors Mustafa Cambaz, the Yeni Şafak newspaper photojournalist who was martyred in the July 15 coup attempt, and featured entries from photographers across Turkey and abroad.
