She Boarded the "President Special" Ultra-luxury Rail Car With Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi

President Droupadi Murmu traveled 170 km by train from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur in Odisha's Ganjam district on Tuesday, the second day of her three-day visit. She boarded the "President special" ultra-luxury rail car with Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The train, featuring air-conditioned bedrooms, a living-cum-dining room, and a kitchen, was scheduled to arrive at Berhampur station at 11:10 am.
An official said the journey was arranged due to IMD rain forecasts. The special saloon was escorted by two trains, with no other rail traffic allowed. High security was in place at Bhubaneswar and Berhampur stations, including bomb disposal squads, sniffer dogs, and baggage screening.
Around 15 police platoons were deployed at Bhubaneswar, with similar arrangements at Berhampur. After arriving, Murmu will visit the Maa Kandhuni Devi shrine near Taptapani hot spring in Sanakhemundi block. Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan declared the venues no-flying zones. Taptapani is a popular tourist spot known for its natural hot spring amid lush forest.
