BJP MP Dubey Alleges Social Media Bias Against National Parties

Citing viewership data from the past week, Dubey said the Cockroach Janta Party, a social media movement started by Abhijeet Dipke, drew 30 million views, while the BJP got 10 million, Congress 15 million, Samajwadi Party 2 million, and Aam Aadmi Party 1 million. He also flagged concerns about VPN usage, saying companies do not disclose how many users access platforms through such networks. His remarks came a day after Meta briefly removed a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Facebook for five hours.

Dubey called for Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to apologize, calling the takedown a serious matter. The panel, which met Monday to discuss social media regulation, recommended withdrawing "safe harbour" protection for platforms that fail to remove child sexual abuse material or objectionable content targeting women, or that promote anti-national forces.
