The Pilot Attributed the Altitude Change to Turbulence or an Updraft/downdraft

Air India flight AI2379 from Phuket to Delhi experienced a turbulence-related event on Tuesday, causing a sudden drop of about 300 feet and minor injuries to a few passengers and crew members. The pilot attributed the altitude change to turbulence or an updraft/downdraft. The aircraft departed Phuket at 8:25 am and landed safely at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at 11:50 am, where all passengers and crew disembarked without serious injuries. Those requiring medical assessment were taken to an airport medical facility, the airline said.
