The officials said the draft offers a temporary solution to the dispute between the US and Iran over the strait and could pave the way for continued negotiations between the two countries. US President Donald Trump had said talks with Iran were progressing positively, with the critical Middle East process expected to be clarified within 48 hours and the strait to reopen soon. Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps media outlet, however, attributed delays in the agreement to US threats.
