Speaking on the Judgemental Podcast With Fellow Judge Anton Du Beke, He Said His Jewellery Was Ripped

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood, 61, has revealed he was stabbed and strip-searched during a holiday in Madrid, Spain. Speaking on the Judgemental podcast with fellow judge Anton Du Beke, he said his jewellery was ripped from his neck, leaving a burn mark, and he was slashed in the stomach with a razor blade while returning from a club around 2 a.m. After the attack, he was strip-searched by French authorities looking for drugs as he left the country. He also recounted a trip to Mombasa, Kenya, where his hotel had burned down without prior notice, and a Nile cruise where passengers fell ill from salmonella poisoning linked to off chicken.

The new Strictly series airs on BBC One and iPlayer this September. But I remember I was dancing at the Lido in Paris, and we went to Madrid for a holiday, so that ended up pretty bad. And then when I got back, I got strip-searched.

I hadn’t shaved, so I did look a bit of a wreck, I’d been stabbed, I had burn marks all around my neck from where I was, like, attacked. And then the French strip searched me down to literally nothing…. they were looking for drugs.
