Aselsan Unveils Infrared Detector Family for Drones to Air Defense Missiles

The company said its microelectronics expertise has made Turkey one of the few nations producing such detectors. The detectors come in cooled and uncooled configurations, and are featured in systems like YAMGÖZ 200 on the ALTAY tank, HİSAR in ÇELİKKUBBE, and TOYGUN on Bayraktar KIZILELMA. The technology enhances night and adverse-weather vision for national platforms, with applications in surveillance, seeker heads, targeting, and the KAAN fighter.

Infrared detectors, held by few advanced countries, offer strategic advantages in poor visibility and can shift power balances. They also serve civilian uses. With our competence in microelectronic systems, we have positioned Turkey among the few countries that produce infrared detectors, the company stated.
