Dumpstate' Can Reveal Your Android Phone's Battery

To access it on a Samsung, open the Phone app, dial *#9900#, tap "Run dumpstate/logcat, then "Copy to phone_storage. On Google, Motorola, and most other devices, dial *#*#7262626#*#* or enable developer options and select "Take bug report. Search the log for "dumpsys batterystats" to find charge cycle count and battery capacity; replace the battery if capacity is below 75% or cycles exceed 500. For wakelocks, search "statistics since last charge" or "dump of service wakelock to spot apps with long real-time usage, like Instagram's location services, which can be fixed by disabling permissions. The log also helps clear old system reports that accumulate over time.
