The Victim Had Been Working at the Show

Ryan Dinnage, 32, of Caithness Walk in Croydon, south London, was jailed for eight years and six months at Reading Crown Court on July 30 for raping a woman in her caravan following the Royal Windsor Horse Show. Thames Valley Police said Dinnage entered the victim's caravan in the early hours of May 16, 2022, shortly after the equestrian event's final day. The victim had been working at the show.

The offence was reported later that day, and Dinnage was arrested the following day. He initially denied any sexual activity but forensic evidence linked him to the offence, and he later claimed it was consensual. Digital evidence from his mobile phone contradicted his account and placed him near the caravan at the time.

He was charged by postal requisition on March 6, 2025, and stood trial at Reading Crown Court. On June 8, a jury unanimously found him guilty of one count of rape; he was acquitted of one count of sexual assault and one count of causing a female to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity. Investigating officer Detective Constable Arshid Ali said: I am pleased with the sentence handed down, which reflects the seriousness of this offence.

This has been a long and difficult process for the victim, spanning more than four years. I hope that the sentence handed down provides her with a sense of closure and allows her to begin moving forward with her life.
