The group, whose members were aged 14 to 21 at the time of the offenses, plotted attacks on migrants and "political opponents" to trigger a collapse of Germany's political system. In October 2024, they firebombed a cultural center in Altdöbern, Brandenburg, causing hundreds of thousands of euros in damage; two attempted attacks on refugee shelters in Senftenberg, Brandenburg, and Schmölln, Thuringia, in early 2025 failed by chance. The trial, which began in December 2024, was largely closed to the public due to the defendants' youth.

A German journalist who infiltrated the group exposed its plans and tipped off police, leading to arrests in February 2025 and subsequent raids across several states; one detained suspect later threatened her with death. Brandenburg's interior minister Jan Redmann noted the rapid online radicalization of young people and family ties to 1990s-era right-wing extremists. Authorities estimate the group has dozens of members nationwide.
