The Special Color for This Year Is Expected to Be Dark Cherry

Apple is preparing for its September launch event, expected on Sept. 9, where it will unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to resemble the iPhone 17 Pro but feature a smaller Dynamic Island, a variable-aperture wide camera, a faster A20 Pro chip, an upgraded LTPO+ OLED display, a new C2 modem, and an N2 network chip.

The special color for this year is expected to be Dark Cherry. The iPhone 18 Pro Max will share the same features but be larger and slightly thicker due to a bigger battery. Both Pro models could cost $100 to $200 more than their predecessors.

The foldable iPhone, possibly called iPhone Ultra, is expected to have a 5.5-inch screen when closed and a 7.8-inch screen when open, with a 4:3 aspect ratio similar to an iPad mini. It will feature a 2nm A20 chip, dual batteries, a dual-lens rear camera, and Touch ID instead of Face ID. Its price is expected to range from $2,000 to $2,500. Apple may announce the foldable in September but release it later, as it did with the iPhone X in 2017. The Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to get a faster S-series chip, a larger battery, and health and fitness improvements, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will receive the same chip upgrade and be thinner with improved sensing. Apple has not confirmed the exact event date, but employees were told it would occur in the first half of September.
